Travel Logistics
Airport
Charleston International Airport (CHS) is 34 miles from Seabrook Island Club, about a 50-minute drive.
Getting around
While rideshare services are allowed on Seabrook Island, we’ve heard availability can be very limited, so we recommend getting a rental car. In addition to the rentals offered by the airport, Turo is a good option at CHS too.
Within Seabrook Island
(Add a sentence or two here about our accomodations choice.)
There are lots of short term rentals available on Seabrook Island. In order to use the Seabrook Island Club amenities, including dining, golf, the Racquet Club, and the Beach Club, you have to stay on Seabrook Island in a Club-associated property and obtain an amenity pass. Seabrook Island Club runs on a cashless system (no credit cards or money accepted). The amenity pass is connected to a credit card number you provide to the Amenity Office.
Many rentals include an amenity pass in the cost of the rental. If your rental does not include an amenity pass, you can purchase one separately here for $55/day, which covers everyone in the property. There are some rentals on Seabrook Island that are not Club-associated properties, so they do not allow you to obtain an amenity pass. You can always contact the Amenity Office to double check the status of your rental.
Outside Seabrook Island
If you’re looking for a hotel instead of a short-term rental, there are options both near Seabrook Island and closer to Charleston.
Charleston Kiawah Island/Andell Inn
The Andell Inn is just a 15 minute drive from Seabrook Island Club, located right outside the gates of Kiawah Island and Seabrook Island. It’s right next to Freshfields Village for convenient access to restaurants, coffee shops, groceries, and shopping. We had an excellent experience at the Andell Inn during our visit!
The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Golf Resort
The Sanctuary is a beachfront hotel located on Kiawah Island. It's just over 20 minutes from Seabrook Island Club. Like Seabrook Island, Kiawah Island is also a private, gated community. While we haven’t stayed at The Sanctuary, we know it’s a very beautiful spot, as it’s one of the venues we toured.
Home2 Suites Charleston West Ashley
West Ashley is a good middle ground for those who want access to both downtown Charleston and the wedding venue, with more affordable hotel options. It’s just over 30 minutes from Seabrook Island Club. There are several hotels here, this is just one we found that gets recommended a lot.
Downtown Charleston
Of course there are many places to stay in downtown Charleston. We don’t have any specific hotels to recommend—just one to avoid. Skip the Francis Marion!
Weekend Ideas
Seabrook Island Club Amenities
If you stay in a Club-associated property and obtain an amenity pass, there are a variety of amenities available! The Amenity Guide has great information about them.
Freshfields Village
Freshfields Village is located right outside the gates of Seabrook Island and Kiawah Island. It’s got everything from restaurants and coffee shops to groceries and shopping. If you’re staying on Seabrook Island, it’s a convenient place to grab anything you might need throughout the weekend.
Downtown Charleston
There are lots of things to do in Charleston’s historic district downtown. Here are some of the things we got to check out and enjoyed: Charleston City Market, Pineapple Fountain/Waterfront Park Pier, Shopping on King Street, Basic Kitchen (our favorite meal during our visit), Frannie & The Fox (their patio is a beautiful place to enjoy a meal).
